Are You Worried Of Using Your Dining Table?
The more you use your dining room table, the larger the chance of scratches, stains, burns and water marks. The table pad has been around for almost 100 years. It is one of the few items that is basically made the same today as it was over 50 years ago. Each pad is hand tailored to exactly fit your table top, has a heavy duty washable leatherette top surface, a cushiony velvet or cotton bottom and folds for easy handling and storage.
The perils of everyday dining threaten the surface of your treasured dining table. Any fine or simulated wood table top can be easily damaged from setting down a sweating glass to accidentally dropping an object. We don't need to remind you how expensive refinishing can be. The only reliable and time tested method to protect your furniture investment is a custom made table pad.
All of our pads are factory guaranteed for life. They may very well outlive the table itself. It's rare to find genuine quality in a world where products are designed to fail - where they require periodic replacement. Having spent a small fortune on your fine table, buying a pad for it is one of the best decision you can make. The small investment in a table pad is well worth it if you consider all the benefits and piece of mind it will give you. Family gatherings are so much more relaxed when table pads are utilized on either a daily or weekly basis or for holidays.. No longer does the host or hostess need to feel anxious about using the table. Give your table the protection it deserves and order a custom table pad from the Table Pad Factory.

How I Lost A Family Heirloom
Not everyone these days is so keen on respecting their elders. Kids never seem to appreciate the experience of their grandparents. For me it’s been a different story. My grandfather fought in World War II – an event that has taken on a mythical character in my mind as the only war that was worth fighting. I don’t know how true that is, or how much Hollywood has played a role in my thinking, but nevertheless it puts people like my grandfather on a higher level of esteem. My grandmother grew up in Manhattan and hung out at the all of the famous jazz clubs with the likes of Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra – and she had the pictures to prove it. My grandparents weren’t rich, far from it, but the things they left behind took on as much gravity as they did.
It wasn’t much – a TV, an old organ that nobody ever played, a few souvenirs from travels around the world, and an old Mahogany table that my great grandmother had brought over from Italy. The table, we were told, was worth over $2,000. How I ended up with it I’m still not sure. Two weeks after my grandmother died (and four years after my grandfather) there it was in my rented kitchen.
I was just out of college and living with some friends I’d made at school. Needless to say, four guys living together make a mess. It was far from Animal House, but still enough to make my mother crazy the few times she visited. And there was that table – stoic, regal, covered in empty cereal boxes and jars of pickles. That table was beautiful.
We had parties. Often. Party people can be, shall we say, clumsy. It took us about three weeks to put a scratch like a canyon across the table. I still don’t know who was responsible, but it didn’t matter. The table was destroyed, and I left it in the apartment when I moved out two years later.
I take care of my things now. Prevention is a marvel when you do it right. I bought a new table (it’s Cherry) and ordered a custom table pad from the Table Pad Factory that protects it from accidents, spills and the wear and tear of everyday use. If you’ve got a table that you want to keep safe from scratches and other damage while still enjoying its appearance order a custom table pad today. They look great, and they’ll save you stress and money down the line – and, in my case, I could have kept a family heirloom.
The Table Pad Factory produces the world's best custom table pads to help protect your valuable furniture from scratches, damage, spills and other wear and tear. Keep your valuable tables protected so you can enjoy them for years to come - a small investment for unparalleled value.
The best way to take care of your tablepads
- How we recommend that you take care of your custom table pads :
- The best way to clean the vinyl top of your table pad is with a damp cloth and a little bit of soap.
- Please refrain from using any abrasive cleaner on the vinyl top as this will really ruin your pads.
- The best way to clean the bottom of your table pad is with a dry, soft bristled brush.
- Table Pads should be stored in a flat position when not in use if possible.
- When table pads are not in use we recommend storing them in storage bags to help preserve them and keep them clean.
- We recommend removing table pads once or twice a month to let your table breathe and to make sure your table does not get a moisture buildup.
- Backward folding of table pads can cause material to break
- in seams.
- We highly recommend using our quality polish Milsek,. We strongly suggest using Milsek Polish once or twice a month to maintain the beauty of your table. In between we would recommend dusting the table. Milsek is a wonderful polish that will protect your table and remove wax build up and scratches.

Do I use a table cloth over my table pad?

Many of our customers use a table cloth over there table pad. However, it is all preference as you can see in the two photos. If you like you can certainly leave the table pad out on the table with nothing on top of it. Many people like to put a table cloth on top when people come over for holidays or fancy dinner but leave the table pad bare otherwise. As you can see many people put a plant on top and leave it bare most of the time.
How do I protect my wood furniture?
